Results in the Books, theses, journals, databases etc. tab

The Books, theses, journals, databases etc. tab shows results in the collection of printed material as well as e-books (mainly from the ProQuest Ebook Central). You will also find links to e-journals, Hanken’s dissertations (in DHanken) and licensed and Open Access databases.

Results in the Articles and more tab

The Articles and more tab includes journal articles (peer reviewed and other articles), articles in newspapers, material from publication archives (dissertations, articles, reports) and more. The search is done in a search index, where many different databases are included, both licensed and freely available.

Some licensed databases are not included in the search index, e.g. on the Ebsco platform. Go to the Databases tab to continue searching in these databases.

As a search language, English or Swedish is recommended. Keywords in English gives you the most results. Keywords in Swedish provide results mainly in Swedish publications archives, which contain dissertations but also articles, research reports, etc.

Results in the All material tab

The All material tab shows results from the Books, theses, journals, databases etc tab and the Articles and more tab in a view side by side. In this view, you can browse the search results. Go to the individual tabs to edit the search results.

Narrow search results

The search results can be narrowed by using the facets.

Where do I find the book?

In the list of results you can find information about in which shelf the book is placed (Call number) and whether there are copies for loan.
The call number tells you where the book is placed, whether it is a text book or a book from the book placed in the book cave.
If all copies are on loan there this is marked by a red cross in front of the call number.

The picture shows where to look for the shelving location of the book in the book's Hanna post.

Click on the title to get more information about the book. You will also have information about the copies of the book such as due dates, number of reservations etc.
Reserve a book by clicking on Login for hold and recall information. Reservations can be made only if all copies are on loan.

The pciture shows where the Login button is and how to read if all book are on loan (the reading room copy being the exception).
