IDEAS is the largest bibliographic database dedicated to Economics and available freely on the Internet. ##RePEc (Research Papers in Economics) is a collaborative effort of hundreds of volunteers in 87 countries to enhance the dissemination of research in Economics and related sciences. The bibliographic database contains working papers, journal articles, books, books chapters and software components, all maintained by volunteers. The collected data are then used in various services that serve the collected metadata to users or enhance it. IDEAS is just one of several services that use RePEc data.

The database presents quantifiable statistical data, e.g. impact factors, that provides a systematic, objective way to determine the relative importance of journals within their subject categories. Svenska Akademiens ordbok (SAOB) är en omfattande historisk kartläggning av det svenska språket från 1521 och fram till våra dagar. Första bandet av SAOB (A-Anlöpning) publicerades 1898 och det trettiofemte bandet (-Tövla) kom ut 2009. I SAOB kan man se hur enskilda ord har använts under århundradena, vad de betyder, varifrån de kommer osv. Eftersom ordboken befann sig i början av alfabetet omkring sekelskiftet 1900, hittar man ord som i dag är föråldrade (automobil och bicykel) och man saknar i gengäld ord som kommit till under senare tid (aids, anorektisk).
